Transcript Evaluations

Through the cooperative venture between EKU and UofL, ITP students are admitted to and take classes at UofL, yet the degree is received from EKU. Therefore, all credits received from other institutions and from UofL must be evaluated by EKU. Information regarding the evaluation process is as follows:
  1. All transcripts from previous institutions must be sent to EKU for evaluation as soon as possible. Since EKU is the university awarding the degree, transcripts need to be sent to Attention: Ms. Sondra Sanders, Office of Admissions, Jones 203, 521 Lancaster Ave., Richmond, KY 40475-3102. This must be an official transcript sent from the original college or university. A copy of the transcript evaluation will be sent to the ITP office to be used for advising purposes. (Note: Transcripts still need to be sent to UofL as required for admission.)
  2. In evaluating transcripts, EKU will accept all credits from other institutions. The letter grade will be posted on the EKU transcript, not just the number of credit hours. Any credits that do not directly fulfill requirements for the degree program will be considered electives.
  3. Transcripts from UofL will automatically be sent to EKU for evaluation and for the tracking of courses taken at UofL.

Please request a Transcript Evaluation form from the ITP office and complete it in order to indicate your prior college experience. It needs to be sent even if there are no other transcripts than those from UofL. Since ITP students at UofL do not formally apply for admission to EKU, this form is essential in indicating that the transcripts received are for students in the ITP branch at UofL and to track students in the ITP. If you have any questions about the transcript evaluation procedure, please feel free to call Shannon Grider at (502) 852-4607 (v & tty) or email her at shannon.grider@louisville.edu.
