Applicants Applying in Spring 2010

2010 ITP Applicant Requirements & Tenative Dates


Students must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher.
Pre-requisite Courses: (student must have taken, be currently enrolled in, or have the equivalent classes with a minimum grade of "C").
  ASL 101, 102, 201, 202
  ITP 215: Professional Ethics and Issues in Interpreting
  ITP 220: Processing Skills for Interpreters
 
February 29, 2010 - the following items are due to the ITP office (e-mail Wendy Zimmerman, call 859-622-4966, or drop materials in Wallace 216.
1.

Letter of application to the ITP (a bit about your background, why you want to be an interpreter, your interaction with the Deaf Community, etc.)
2.

Two letter of recommendations (from someone who knows your character, work experiences, interactions with the Deaf Community, etc.
3.
Transcripts (official or unofficial)
 
Reading Test, we will be announcing a date when the reading test will be given at the main campus in Richmond.
 
Individual interviews will be scheduled in the later part of March or beginning of April.  As the time gets closers, we will post the exact times. The appointment schedule will be posted March 17th at the Richmond campus. Off-campus applicants must contact Wendy for an appointment at 859-622-4966.
 
Applicants will be notified by May 1st.
 
Note: Admission to EKU does not guarentee admission to the ITP. The ITP is a limited enrollment program and all accepted students must attend full-time for two years.
